Maria Sharapova raised expectations for Year 2010 by starting it with a fine win over Venus Williams at the Hua Hin Centennial Invitation match on Saturday.
The glamour girl has wished to put an end to her injury woes and add some weight to her career. In 2009, a shoulder injury kept her off the field for a long time. Sharapova won 6-3, 6-4- after a tough fight. The Hua Hin tournament marks the centenary celebration of the popular beach resort town.
