Former Olympic sprinter Shiny Wilson (left), who became the first Indian woman to enter the semi-final of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics 800m event with a personal best of 2:04

69 seconds, is confident that 2010 Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning discus thrower Krishna Poonia, can spring a surprise at the London Games beginning on Friday. India is yet to win a medal in the track and field events at the Olympics and Chennai-based Wilson felt that 30-year-old Poonia was in good touch ahead of the Olympics. "It's good that we have strong 14-member athletic contingent for London this time.

"I feel Poonia has a chance to win a medal. She recently achieved a distance of 63.16m (at the Woodford Green Open graded meet at Ashton, USA). If she can better her Ashton performance there is a good chance of a medal here," said Wilson, who is famous for teaming up with P T Usha, M D Valsamma and Vandana Rao in the women's 4X400 relay final at the 1984 Games. The 47-year-old represented the country in four Olympics Games namely - 1984 Los Angeles, 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona and 1996 Atlanta said.u00a0
