India's Somdev Devvarman defeated Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 7-6 (8/6), 2-6, 7-6 (10/8) in the second round of the Serbia open yesterday.
Devvarman ranked 71 in the world took three hours and 13 minutes to knock off the World No 26 in an intense battle.
This win takes Devvarman into the quarter-finals of the clay court event where he will meet Serbian Janko Tipsarevic, who beat German Mischa Zverve 6-2, 6-0.
