What was slated to be a slugfest turned out as expected as Jadhav got the better of Joshi in five games. The younger and faster Laxman ran away with the first two games before Jadhav slowed down the pace and controlled proceedings. Winning the close third game 12-10, Jadhav won the next two relatively easily to emerge a 9-11,7-11,12-10,11-6,11-9 winner. The second semifinal was a straight forward affair with Karm outplaying Pawar 11-5, 11-6, 11-6.
