Ravi Dixit created history on Saturday by becoming the first Indian to win the boys title in the Asian Junior individual squash championship as he defeated Waqas Mehboob of Pakistan


Colombo: Ravi Dixit created history on Saturday by becoming the first Indian to win the boys title in the Asian Junior individual squash championship as he defeated Waqas Mehboob of Pakistan 8-11, 8-11, 13-11, 11-5, 11-9 in the final.

Making this a historical day for India was Dipika Pallikal, who won the girls crown, defeating second seed Low Wee Nee of Malaysia 11-8, 12-10, 10-12, 11-8.

Kush Kumar and Abhishek Pradhan won the bronze medal in the boys u-15 and u-19 categories, respectively, while Lakshaya Ragvendran and Anaka Alankamony finished fourth in the girls u-15 and u-19 categories respectively.
