ML Dogra, director of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has said that 4x400m relay Commonwealth Games and Asian Games runner, Mandeep Kaur suspects something was amiss in the food supplements she consumed.
Kaur and Juana Murmu were reported to have tested positive for anabolic agents in an out-of-competition test conducted by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF).
"Kaur participated in more than 100 international competitions. She suspects something was wrong in her food supplements and has requested us to test the supplements she consumed," Dogra told MiD DAY last evening.
Kaur has won gold in the 2010 Commonwealth and 2010 Asian Games 4x400m relay while Murmu finished fourth in the Asian Games.
Both their 'A' samples were taken by International Doping Tests and Management on behalf of the IAAF at NIS Patiala and tested at National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) in the capital. The samples were taken out of competition at NIS Patiala on May 25. Mandeep's 'B' sample had adverse analytical findings methandienone and stanozolol while Juana's had methandienone.
