Three-a-side training in their small school backyard is paying off rich dividends for JJ Academy English Medium School (Mulund), who beat Bright Start Fellowship (Gowalia Tank) 4-1 in a Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) boys' U-16 Division IV inter-school football match at Azad Maidan yesterday.

This was JJ Academy's second win in the tourney, which is credible considering the boys barely manage a three-a-side game in training due to insufficient space at their school premises.
"We do not have sufficient space to train so I make the boys play three-on-three. Their play is restricted to short passes and no aerial play given the space constraints.
The boys also tend to look down for most part of their training as the passes are quick and low. However, here at Azad Maidan the entire equation changes as the ground is huge and there ample scope for open play," said JJ Academy coach Vaibhav Gavale.
Ovais Sayyed scored a brace while Karanveer Singh Kaberwal and Akshat Dave added a goal each for JJ Academy. Rishi Jain pulled one back for Fellowship.
