Former Ghana international Samuel Kuffour was almost rendered speechless by his nation's victory over Serbia yesterday.
It looked as though the Black Stars would be forced to settle for a point against the ten-man Europeans, but a late Asamoah Gyan spot-kick handed the Africans a famous victory.
The former Bayern Munich and Roma centre half stated, "I don't know how to explain this feeling. It is amazing and well done to the boys. Today our president is in the stadium, I can't describe how I am feeling. Today was our day.
We controlled the game. We had more chances than Serbia. It is fantastic."
Kuffour added that the impact that this victory will have on his homeland will be seismic, with celebrations to last long into the night.
He said, "There will be a carnival on the streets of Ghana. It is the first World Cup in Africa and we are the first team to get three points.
"We defended well and the goalkeeper proved the doubters wrong."
