Boxer Vijender Singh on Friday denied any connection with the recent Rs 130-crore drug haul in Punjab.
According to television channels reports, Singh denied any links with a man who was arrested in Punjab after 26 kgs of drugs worth 130 crores were found in his flat.
"I have nothing to do with these people. I do not know how my name has come up in this matter. I was in Mumbai for some work and had left my car at NIS Patiala. Nothing was found in my car," he added.
In a massive drug haul, the police recovered heroin worth Rs 130 crore from a flat in Zirakpur, Mohali.
The police has alleged that Vijender''s wife''s car was found outside the Zirakpur flat and 10 kilograms of heroin was also recovered from another car. But it has not been confirmed if it was from the boxer''s wife''s car.
"10Kg heroin was found from a car, 16Kg from a flat in Zirakpur. An international drug smuggling racket has been found," said H.S. Mann, SSP Fatehgarh.
" Four days ago, an NRI was arrested, on interrogation we found that two smugglers had 26 kilograms of heroin worth Rs130 crore on them," he added.
"It is an international scam. Many countries are involved in this. Investigations are going on," he said.
