Viren Rasquinha, COO of Olympic Gold Quest and former captain of the Indian hockey team has been ranked No 31 in Sports Illustrated magazine's 'Top 50 Most Influential People in Indian Sport.'
Rasquinha's inclusion in the list can be attributed to his new role as the head of Olympic Gold Quest, a foundation that helps top sportspersons prepare for Olympic sports.
Indian badminton's biggest star Saina Nehwal, boxer M C Marykom and world rifle shooter Gagan Narang are backed by Olympic Gold Quest.
Sachin Tendulkar heads Sports Illustrated's Power List and is followed by Lalit Modi, Vijay Mallya, Sharad Pawar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Indian cricket board president Shashank Manohar is ranked six before Sports Minister M S Gill and BCCI secretary N Srinivasan. The magazine reports that Nagpur-based Manohar doesn't own a mobile phone and his first trip abroad was only in 2008 when he visited Dubai for an International Cricket Council meeting.
