India's Viswanathan Anand defeated reigning champion and World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen in Round Nine of the World Rapid Championship (WRC) in Saudi Arabia. The former world champion Anand, who drew his previous match with Russia's Vladimir Fedoseev, finished the game in 34 moves to remain unbeaten in the tournament. He has won five games, while four ended in a draw.
