WWE SmackDown Live ended on a high with John Cena, AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose coming face to face ahead of their title clash at No Mercy.
John Cena and Dean Ambrose will face WWE world champion AJ Styles for the title in a triple-threat match at WWE main event No Mercy on October 9th.
Bray Wyatt kicked off the show facing Kane with Randy Orton appearing during the match. Wyatt then decided to leave the match and get counted out.
Nikki Bella had a match with Alexa Bliss with the former's rival Carmella on commentary. After Nikki threw Alexa onto Carmella, she ran into the ring and began assaulting Nikki once again and Alexa won via disqualification. When Becky came in to save Nikki, the match became a tag match. Alexa went on to hit her top rope splash to win the match.
The Miz TV segment showed Dolph Ziggler's video package which was more of a mockery. Miz then brought out Ziggler's former teammates - the Spirit Squad. After a routine the two of them attacked Dolph but he managed to put them down with superkicks.
Baron Corbin and Jack Swagger fought each other to see who was the tougher man. Corbin went on to lose the match in an error of judgement by the ref and he was not happy about it.
Finally, Cena, Styles and Ambrose faced off each other. Styles and Ambrose spoke against each other and after Cena entered the ring, the two of them took potshots at him and did not give him a chance to speak telling him to 'shut up'. Styles said Cena can never be compared to Ric Flair. Ambrose went on to say Cena did not respect him as he was not a suck up to Cena.
After much said Cena only said 'talk is cheap' and went on to attack Ambrose. Cena hit an AA on Ambrose and held the title. Styles then hit the Phenomenal Forearm to put Cena down. AJ's celebration was cut short after Ambrose hit him with Dirty Deeds on the floor to hold up the title.
