Elite counter-insurgency unit Rashtriya Rifles will be completing 25 years of its formation in October this year, and the Mumbai-based hockey brothers were invited for a felicitation function to Anantnag as part of the army unit's Silver Jubilee celebrations. "We reached Anantnag on Sunday and met the Rashtriya Rifles troops on Monday.

We spent the whole day with them singing, dancing and even played some hockey. The jawans were very impressive with their hockey skills," said Yuvraj yesterday, after interacting with some 400 soldiers, who keenly quizzed the duo about their hardships before they achieved international success.

Humble background
"I come from a very humble background and everybody knows that. The jawans were very touched to hear our story. I told them that we are perfect examples of two simple, poor boys, who dared to dream and worked very hard to achieve it," added Yuvraj.

Finally, the duo thanked the army for having them over. "They wanted to thank us for coming, but in turn, we thanked them for giving us the opportunity to see how they selflessly serve the nation," Yuvraj signed off.
