"If you're not at 200 per cent, you're out," he told fcbarcelona.com. "We have to charge our batteries and be prepared. I want to go through to the next round. We have a magnificent opportunity in front of our own fans and in our own stadium. We mustn't waste it."
Barcelona take on Stuttgart at Camp Nou this evening level at 1-1 following their draw with Die Roten at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in the first leg and know a clean sheet will be enough to see them progress.
Alves concluded by underlining the significance of the competition to Barca and admitting his side face stiff opposition.
"We know how important and difficult the competition is. The slightest slip and they can send you home. It's a really difficult match and we have to go flat out."
