London: Serena Williams won a sixth Wimbledon title and 21st Grand Slam on Saturday with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Garbine Muguruza. Not surprisingly, the 33-year-old American was in fine form at her post-match media conference. AFP Sports picks out the gems. On her longevity: "I just keep reinventing myself."

Fitness secrets
On keeping fit: "It's the Serena plan. I used to box...now I'm dancing a lot. It's a contemporary style. I don't know how to describe it. It's just lots of movements. It's not like super fast. It's slow, not too slow. Sometimes a lot of floor work, so..."

On winning the US Open and completing the calendar Grand Slam: "Oh, man, I've won New York three times in a row. I hope this isn't the year that I go down. I want to do well there. We'll see. I've won three, so that's not bad."

On the end of the match when there was a bizarre pause before result was announced: "I didn't hear her (the umpire) say, Game, set, match. So I was just really confused."

On her gown for Sunday's Champions Dinner: "I found out the better dresses I bring, I usually win. If I bring a not-so-nice one, I don't win. I brought a really nice one this time."

On being the oldest winner of a Grand Slam: "Coooooool."

On staying focused in a big match: "Usually I'm singing a song in my head. Then if I stop singing it, I usually start losing, then I go back to singing. It's crazy up there. You don't want to be up there."
