Striker Himanshu opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a brilliant solo effort and then extended the lead two minutes later after latching onto a through-ball from teammate Manav Trivedi.
The Yashodham High School team were forced to miss their school's Teacher's Day party due to match. But Himanshu said it was worth it. The 15-year-old said: "We had Teacher's Day celebrations in school today. While our classmates were enjoying, we came here. We won and we couldn't have given a better Teacher's Day gift to our coach, Constant Akhere."
Meanwhile, in another tie held at Azad Maidan, St Pius X (Mulund), who won the Division III title, knocked out boys U-16 Division I league runners-up Bombay Scottish thanks to a 1-0 win over the Mahim school. Rahul Johny scored the all-important goal for the Mulund school.
