Maria Sharapova
Russian tennis great and entrepreneur Maria Sharapova has termed the business landscape intimidating, but said she learned how to navigate it at a very young age. The five-time Grand Slam champion, who already owns candy brand, Sugarpova, recently added one more feather to her business cap by buying an equity stake in an investment platform.
"After winning my first Grand Slam at 17, I was introduced to the business world at a young age with new brand deals and business opportunities," Sharapova was quoted as saying by businesswire.com. "It can be a very intimidating environment and one that I had to learn to navigate as a teenager."
Despite her success as an entrepreneur, Sharapova said she always tries to learn more. "I try to grab as much education from meetings, sitting in boardrooms, to looking at my own contracts, and not having too many external people doing it for me," she said.
