Parisian may shock Juliette in WIRHOA Eclipse Stakes of India

The Western India Race Horse Owners' Association Eclipse Stakes of India (Gr 2) is the feature event of Sunday's bumper 11-race card slated at the Pune racetrack.

The G Karthik-trained Juliette, who left her footprint in the Mumbai Classics 2019-20 campaign despite a lean body frame, is presently in her best health as evidenced by her increased weight and an effortless victory in the Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia Trophy (Gr 2) on this track.

Her main rival appears to be the Pesi Shroff-trained Parisian, a late bloomer who made her debut only after four of the five Classics were over. Parisian, who has won all her three races, displayed superb fitness and incredible turn of foot when winning her last race here about a month ago. Though Parisian has never encountered the kind of company she faces today in the feature race, the fact that she will receive eight kg from Juliette may tilt the balance in her favour at the end of the 2000m trip.
