Pune horse racing: Sultan Suleiman for Delhi Race Club Trophy

Sultan Suleiman, trained by Altaf Hussain and to be ridden by N S Parmar, has a decent chance to humble his seven rivals in the Delhi Race Club Trophy, the feature event of Sunday's inaugural card of the Pune racing season.

The five-year-old's two main rivals appear to be Rambunctious, a younger filly trained by Pesi Shroff who will not go down without a fight, and Caprisca, an older horse from trainer Imtiaz Sait's yard who has advertised his fitness when winning a mock race on this track about a month ago.

I believe Sultan Suleiman has it in him to ward off any threat, and accordingly, nominate him as a good bet of the afternoon.
