US Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn recently recalled how she had to deal with criticism for having a muscular body, especially when she wore fashion outfits during red carpet appearances.
"A lot of people have said, âYou shouldn't wear things like that. It doesn't look good on your body type.' Or âYou're too muscular for that,' " Vonn was quoted as saying by New York Post.
"I'm not going to say who, but I've had a lot of people say not such nice things to me." The four-time world champion, who retired from the sport in 2019, said she is much leaner now and exercises to stay fit.
"I'm a lot leaner. I used to do things that were so sport-specific, so I had to be bigger. But everyone is like, âOh my God, you're in the best shape of your life.' It's like - yes and no. I'm not training for my sport anymore, I'm training to be fit. I'm just working out to keep my knee strong and feel good," she explained.
