Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are currently the face of men’s doubles badminton in India. The duo on Sunday scripted history as they clinched their maiden BWF World Tour Super 1000 title and became the first Indian pair to do so. Super 100
The duo won their first BWF World Tour title at Hyderabad Open Super 100 tournament in 2018 after defeating the Indonesian pair Akbar Bintang and Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 21-16, 21-14.
Super 300
Satwiksairaj and Chirag defeated China's Ren Xiang Yu and Tan Qiang 21-19, 24-22 to win the men’s doubles title in the Swiss Open Super 300 tournament in March this year.
Super 500
In 2019, Satwiksairaj and Chirag became the first Indian doubles pair to win a BWF World Tour Super 500 title. They defeated Ko Sung Hyun and Shin Baek Cheol of South Korea 22-20, 22-24, 21-9 to clinch the Thailand Open men’s doubles title.
In 2022, they won their second Super 500 title after defeating Indonesian pair of Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan 21-16 26-24 at the India Open.
Super 750
The duo yet again made history by clinching first Indian doubles Super 750 title at the French Open 2022. They defeated Chinese Taipei’s Lu Ching Yao and Yang Po Han 21-13, 21-19 in the final.
Super 1000
Their latest historical win came on Sunday when they clinched the Indonesia Open Super 1000 title with a 21-17, 21-18 victory over Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.
