10 AM - 5.30 PM: Works by the quintessential biographer of filmmaker Satyajit Ray, Nemai Ghosh, are on display at the museum. Ghosh's photographs are an eloquent documentation of Indian cinema, specially highlighting mainstream cinema from erstwhile Bombay as well as regional Bengali cinema. On show are several iconic and never-before-seen images of actors, scenes, sets and locations taken over a 25-year period. The accompanying catalogue carries wide-raging essays by writers on cinema, besides plates of exhibition images.

Janah's works are a treasure trove of India's peasants and tribal communities from 1940 - '60. Curated by contemporary photographer Ram Rahman, the exhibition of original vintage prints is significant, since the
last time they were exhibited was in 1965.

OCT 13, 10.30 AM - 7.30 PM: Head to the World Trade Centre for an exhibition by Ruchika Club, an all-women organisation that has been supporting philanthropic activities since 1980 through such bazaars. The club has a vocational centre at Shah and Nahar Estate called Nayee Disha where tailoring, spoken English and beautician's courses are conducted for underprivileged women. The club holds two anual events, Ruchika fest prior to Rakhshabandhan and Ruchika Lifestyle, before Diwali. The latter, which will be held later this week, will showcase products by brands Polki Jewel-Rasshi Podar Fine Jewellery abd Nuggets. Fabrics, kids wear, diyas and jewellery are on sale. Moreover, NGOs will be given complementary space at the event. The organisation supports Samparc Balgram, an orphanage, near Lonavala, through this initiative.
