Discuss recipes and share stories of food and travel over a curated brunch by Chef Devika Manjrekar
Tired of regular menus at your favourite restaurants? Go for a one-of-a-kind pop-up at Fat Man's Café & Grill, Juhu. Titled, A Chef's Affair, the café will play host to Cordon Bleau London graduate chef Devika Manjrekar for its first edition.
The idea for the pop-up emerged after owner Rajiv Tandon felt the need to create a platform for talented chefs to display their skills and offer delicacies for those with discerning taste buds.
Over an elaborate meal, one can discuss the menu, while the chef shares stories and lets you in on their secret ingredient and recipes. "I wanted to give my customers a different experience and a taste of the world. That's why, I thought of inviting a guest chef twice a month and get them to cook a cuisine that we don't serve at the café," says Tandon.
For the brunch, Manjrekar will be cooking delicious avacado on toast with feta and chilli, smokey chipotle shakshuka, creamy mushrooms, parmesan and grilled sourdough. For non-vegetarians, there is avocado on toast with crispy bacon, Turkish eggs, and fried chicken and waffles. To end the meal there is either chocolate chip and Nutella pancakes, or apple streusel pancakes to choose from. "These dishes are perfect hangover cures. My favourite is the Turkish eggs or Cilbir, which I first ate at the restaurant Kopapa in London and instantly fell in love with," says Manjrekar.
