Ever since the city first embraced the Mumbai Marathon in 2004, there has been an explosion of annual races and walks to encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle. In a first, mothers-to-be can also join the fun, with a pregathon organised exclusively for them.
The Bio-Oil Pregathon to be held today, will bring over 300 mothers together for a kilometre-long walk, followed by some pampering. "We have always believed in encouraging conversations about crucial questions and concerns that pregnant women have during their journey, whether it is accepting and embracing the body changes or the crucial role of friends and family in this journey. This year, our endeavour is to drive conversations around self-love, care and fitness, which sometimes get side-lined," says Suchit Bansal, from the sponsor brand.

The event will be flagged off by celebrity mums, Neha Dhupia and Mira Rajput. Post the walk, participants will interact with the two, followed by a brunch at Sofitel, BKC, with a family member/spouse, and a baby shower for all to celebrate the occasion. Three lucky mums will also stand a chance to win a pre-natal photoshoot.

Participating women will need to wear sport shoes to ensure they have a comfortable walk. "For the best interest of the women, it is advised for them to have medical certification, especially those in their third trimester," Bansal adds.
