A short play series performed minimalist style, without props

In times when Bollywood's grandeur has begun to rub off on the theatre space, here's a director who still trusts in the power of content, sans the sheen of technology and glamour. Kamalesh Acharya's play Bare Bones is theatre stripped off all kinds of props possible. "I strongly believe content is king. So, my play, Bare Bones does is not dependent on any modern technology in terms of backdrop and prop, to add to the experience. As a team, we are convinced that our plays can connect without technological assistance. So, we deliver the play in its 'bare bones' form: No light effects (just binary on/off between the short plays), no music or sound effects, minimal props and no special costume or makeup," he says.

The six power packed plays take on myriad topics. The first act of the evening, titled Where Heart Meets Mind, uncovers the most common conflict within a human - between his heart and the mind. His next, Visiting the Earth, has a mysterious visitor landing on Earth, travelling through space and time to understand the concepts that drive the world. Acharya tackles several other topics like gibberish and inner demons. From witty to stupid, hatred to love, this play promises to take the audience through a range of emotions, performed in minimalist style.
