AVAILABLE FOR: Five Senses Exercise for Dogs
Charges: Starts at Rs 2,500
Contact: 9820345507

Matunga-based canine behaviourist Pradnya Hattiangadi teaches pet parents the Five Senses exercise that helps nervous, hyper-active, sound-sensitive dogs cope with the noise and chaos of the festive season. It uses the principles of classically conditioning all the five senses - touch, sight, smell, sound and taste - to get the dog to relax. As with all habit-forming rituals, it is best done 21 days in a row, in advance of the time you want to rely on it, say, for Diwali. "Classical conditioning is a very powerful tool that can convince our dogs to rest on cue," says Hattiangadi, who comes home to guide the pet parent. "This training can be taken wherever you and your dog go."

RECOMMENDED BY: Anushree Lokhande, a Prabhadevi resident and mom to Quincy the indie dog, says, "Quincy is three years old. We have been doing this exercise for years now, because even I love it, as a mindfulness practitioner. She's able to switch off from an alert and vigilant mode into a calmer headspace."
