Veteran actress finally steps out of her self-imposed exile

Reclusive Rekha to appear in chocolate ad

There has been a lot of speculation, of late, about Rekha being offered small screen reality shows like Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa. But the reclusive diva turned down the offers. She preferred to stay away from the limelight. However she could not say no to chocolates like most of us!

Rekha

Buzz is that Rekha will soon be seen in a commercial for a well-known international chocolate brand. The ad’s concept is supposed to highlight her diva image the reason perhaps she agreed to feature in it. Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali will apparently direct the commercial.

Says a source, “Rekha plays herself in the commercial. As the target segment for the brand is youngsters, the ad is very new age with a dash of humour and Hinglish words.”

Adds the source, “A few more actresses were considered but Rekha was the best choice ultimately. Some other female stars were also approached to feature along with her. One of them being Raveena Tandon.”

Raveena states on her microblogging site, “Was offered a chocolate (which is my fav choc bar) ad with the glorious Rekha.. but somehow I didn’t like the script, after too much to and fro.... I opted out.... don’t know who did it now eventually..

But my loss.... but somehow how much ever they tried to convince, I couldn’t do the script. Mmmm.... only time will tell.... And was so looking forward to working with Imtiaz Ali, he’s such an humble sweet person.”u00a0
