When he is not directing movies, Priyadarshan is happy to go behind the camera for ad campaigns. While he has filmed commercials for the Indian Premier League, a popular brand of soft drinks, and insurance companies, it’s the upcoming shoot for a leading jewellery brand that has him excited. Reason— it brings together Kriti Sanon, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and his actor-daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan.

We hear the shoot will take place in Mumbai from February 16 to 18. A source reveals, “Priyadarshan is currently filming another project in Kochi, and will fly to Mumbai tomorrow. The ad campaign will pay tribute to India’s diverse cultures and traditions, and showcase how festivals bridge the divide between the north and south. Given the north-south theme, the filmmaker felt it would be best to team up Hindi cinema stars Kriti and Janhvi with south Indian actors Rashmika and Kalyani. The commercial has the themes of love, family values, sibling revelry and friendship. An elaborate set is being put up in Mumbai for the shoot.” Later this year, the National Award-winning filmmaker is expected to roll his yet-untitled supernatural thriller that reunites him with Akshay Kumar after 14 years.
