Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan took the mic recently and broke his silence on the past few years of successes and setbacks he had experienced in the last few years. Shah Rukh Khan accepted an honour at a recent award ceremony, and what he anticipated was all things Shah Rukh Khan—filled with wit, charm, and that trademark Shah Rukh Khan sly humour. But apart from the lightheartedness, Shah Rukh Khan even alluded to his son Aryan Khan's arrest in the speech. However, one viral moment from the event that has surfaced is a kind gesture he made to P. Veermuthuvel, the project director in charge of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.

The clip in question is from the awards ceremony show where Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with the 'Indian of the Year 2024' award. In the video, Shah Rukh Khan was seen pulling Veeramuthuvel towards him, making sure that the ISRO scientist got his spotlight. Initially shy, Veeramuthuvel moved back to allow Shah Rukh Khan to have his moment, but King Khan would not allow it. Veeramuthuvel was also joined on stage by ISRO chairman S Somanath, where they were felicitated by union minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who called the chairman 'the Shah Rukh Khan of space’ much to Shah Rukh Khan's delight.

Shah Rukh Khan talks about playing negative roles

At the award show, Shah Rukh Khan said he makes sure bad guys 'die a dog's death'. Shah Rukh Khan even talked about his responsibility in society and said that if he ever plays the role of a villain, he makes sure he dies a 'dog's death.'. This comment comes after movies like 'Animal' have been under fire for glorifying misogyny and violence.

Shah Rukh Khan said, "I am a guy who is hopeful and tells happy stories. The heroes I play do good things; they give hope and happiness. If I play a bad guy, I make sure he suffers a lot, he dies a dog's death because I believe goodness begets goodness. And I believe badness deserves a kick in the back side. I should play honest roles that give people courage to dream. I should keep working hard quietly with the hope that life doesn't topple my apple cart anytime soon."

Shah Rukh Khan himself has played negative roles despite being known as the 'romance king'. His role in Darr, Baazigar, and Anjaam has a place in history for itself. However, the actor has stayed away from those kinds of negative roles since then.
