Seeing the pretty grim situation in India due to the second wave of Covid-19, National Awardee actor Rituparna Sengupta organises vaccines with the help of Rupali Basu, CEO of Woodlands hospital in Kolkata. These vaccines will be for special need children and NGO workers, with the help of Praayas an organisation dedicated to special need kids and with the support of Abhuduoyji. She feels and states, "Children with special needs getting affected is a matter of great worry every passing day & since they are unable to communicate much, it's becoming painful to be alone. They need supervision around the clock and arranging hospital beds to oxygen, I'm trying my best to help in any way."


Rituparna, who's staying in Singapore with her family, doing every possible way to help her city Kolkata. Right now her Hindi movie 'Ittar' got delayed due to the Covid outbreak and 'Bansuri' with Anurag Kashyap got released but will see a re-release very soon due to the current situation. She has volunteered to adopt children who have lost their parents. She is affected a lot by the plight of the people and also deeply sad to lose lots of dear and near ones to this dreadful disease. So she wants to spread awareness and also do every bit in her capacity.


In March, Rituparna Sengupta was tested positive for Covid-19. She shared the news on social media. "I have tested positive for Covid-19 but I want to inform you all that I am feeling fine. I am asymptomatic and following all the required protocols and precautions advised by my doctor and authorities," she tweeted. She had quarantined herself at a recovery centre in Singapore. Sengupta won the national award in 1997 for Dahan.
