Job well done: The overall pass percentage in the division is 90.73
The Pune division, which consists of Pune, Ahmadnagar and Solapur districts, has an overall pass percentage of 90.73. Students from Ahmadnagar have fared the best with a pass percentage of 92.58 while Pune is second with 90.49. Out of the 2,02,510 students who appeared for the exam from Pune division, 1,83,731 students have passed.
“Compared to last year, the pass percentage has gone up by 15%. The credit goes to students, who have worked hard throughout the year. The in-crease in pass percentage also shows that the revised syllabus has got a good response from both students and teachers,” said Sunil Chauhan, chairman, Pune divisional board.
Still waiting
The results of as many as 350 students who appeared for the HSC exam from Pune division have not been declared. In most cases, it is because the students have chosen a wrong combination of subjects.
“Ideally, it is the responsibility of junior colleges to ensure that students appear for the exam with the right combination of subjects. In such cases, we keep the results on hold. Other technical errors include repeater students appearing under the new syllabus.
However, soon after our inquiry we will issue the marks list to all students. Students will not have to suffer because of these technical faults,” Chauhan said.
