The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced yesterday that the India-England World Cup match on February 27 has been switched from Kolkata to Bangalore. The high-profile game was taken away from Kolkata because of concerns about unfinished renovation work at the Eden Gardens.

The ICC will make an inspection on February 7 to gauge the venue's progress for the March 15 South Africa vs Ireland match. Another inspection is slated on Feb 14 for the March 18 match between The Netherlands and Ireland. The final inspection is on February 22 for the March 20 match between Zimbabwe and Kenya.
