Apeejay School, PG Garodia win handball titles

Apeejay School and PG Garodia School claimed the top honours in the girls' and boys' under-16 handball events respectively in the inaugural Sports For All (SFA)-India's Premier Inter-School Sporting System, which is being played at the DY Patil Sports Stadium, Nerul on Saturday

Apeejay School and PG Garodia School claimed the top honours in the girls' and boys' under-16 handball events respectively in the inaugural Sports For All (SFA)-India's Premier Inter-School Sporting System, which is being played at the DY Patil Sports Stadium, Nerul on Saturday.

In the girls final, Apeejay School, after leading 3-1 at the end of the first half, went on to complete a 6-2 victory against JB Vachha School and emerge victorious. For the winning team, Sakshi Khushe top-scored with four goals. Radhika Dikay and Urkarsha Kaur got one each for the losers.


In the boys' title clash, PG Garodia School enjoyed total domination as they stormed to a 14-9 win against Gopi Birla School after leading 7-6 at the end of the first half.

Tennis – Girls' U-10 (semis): Gia Pereira (RBK International) bt Asmi Kohli (Convent Girls High School) 4-1, 4-1; Kyra Shetty (Jamnabai Narsee) bt Kunjal Kanak(St. Lawrence) 4-2, 4-2.
Boys' U-10 (semis): Aarav Pawar (Delhi Public School) bt Piyush Rawat (Ryan International) 4-1, 4-2; Avnesh Srivastava (Apeejay School) bt Aditya Talati (St. Gregarios) 2-4, 5-4(3), 5-4(3).
