Dwyane Wade scored 24 points and LeBron James added 16 points with 10 assists on Friday to lead Miami to a 106-92 victory over Detroit and first place in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
James, who took time early to ask a heckler not to be disrespectful of his family, finished with eight rebounds ufffd narrowly missing a triple-double.
After the game, James shrugged off the exchange.
"Guys get out of control, at times," he said. "I understand they are very passionate, but you need to know where to draw the line.
"I don't care if you say anything about the game of basketball, or something to me, just don't be disrespectful."
The Heat went into the contest tied atop the Eastern Conference with the Boston Celtics, who were idle on Friday after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
Boston host the Heat on Sunday.
Wade slammed home an alley-oop dunk from James in the first quarter to give Miami a 16-7 lead. Although Detroit trailed by just four points after the first period, Miami opened the second quarter on a 12-2 scoring run that broke open the contest.
Chris Bosh had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Heat, whose six players in double figures included all five starters.
Miami led 64-43 at halftime and weren't seriously threatened after that. Austin Daye scored 18 points for Detroit.
