Sagar Kavach: Cops patrol at beaches

Several beaches in Mumbai including Dadar beach will remain closed for two days for the ‘Sagari Suraksha Kavach’

The Coastal security exercise, ‘Sagari Suraksha Kavach’ is also known as ‘Sagar Kavach’ or ‘Sea Vigil’

The exercise is conducted by the Indian Navy along with the Indian Coast Guard and all stakeholders involved in coastal security of the country

Sagar Kavach is a biannual exercise aimed at checking the coastal security mechanism and validating SOPs

The purpose of this exercise is to validate the effectiveness of the coastal security mechanism in dealing with asymmetric threats to the coast
