Saif Mohammad: The Special Place Cricket Holds in the Heart of The Deccan Gladiators’ Director

Saif Mohammad spent his childhood days exploring his city of Aligarh - carefree and courageous, the way a child is. The bazaars and busy streets all fascinated him, the game of cricket was a special favourite. He'd stop to look at the intense gully cricket showdowns, and if the local university was having a match - Mohammad was sure to be a spectator.

Today, he is the lead director for the Deccan gladiators. The T10 Cricket League has been played in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for the last 5 years and the Deccan Gladiators took home the trophy in 2021.

Saif Mohammad says that he'll be ever grateful to Allah for blessing him with the opportunity to be a part of a game he holds so dear to his heart, "With Allah's blessing, I am in a position in life where I am regularly surrounded by the world of cricket, I see behind the scenes, I get to meet the big names, and it fills my heart with so much joy. I always give my best to honour Allah's kindness and the blessings of my parents. I have been blessed with so much, and with my hard work, I know many more milestones lie ahead.".

In his free time, Mohammad likes to wield the bat himself and play a game or two.

He is also the founder of the successful health and hygiene brand - Arean Hygiene. He has several plans up his sleeve, including the ambitious one to expand his business overseas in countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman.

He attributes his drive and inspiration to his love for cricket. It is a simple endless love that he has carried with himself throughout his life, the magic brought into the game by legends - going back to the 70s and 80s- is enough to stir anyone's heart and Saif Mohammad is no different. The rich history and the dynamic nature of the game drew him in and he has been a part of this electrifying world for a long, long time.

To help out other cricket lovers, Saif Mohammad is drawing up plans for a talent hunt program to give a platform to the untapped talent who are at the short end of the stick because of a lack of resources. This campaign will be under his federation - Spots Spirit federation.

As a word of advice to the upcomers, Mohammad cautions them to never overlook their health and to not only pay attention to their physical health but also look after their emotional and mental wellbeing. He also wishes to tell them that, "Don't lose your heart because of any circumstance - if you are good you will be noticed and you will be picked. There are going to be people who are better than you, don't see them with malice, they are setting an example for you, accept that work towards making yourself better than your best competition.".
