Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is quite trigger-happy; he has a great passion for photography and spends most of his free time on the sets taking pictures or reading about it.
Who: Neil Nitin Mukesh poses with his camera
Where: Hanging Gardens
What: Some of Neil's masterpieces
With the shooting of Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail now over, CS caught Neil with his Nikon:
1. Calling the shots
I've always enjoyed clicking pictures. When I was shooting for New York, I did a short course in photography in the US. I feel photography is an art that has to come from within. I see a different world altogether through my lens. I'm extremely curious about nature. There is a certain mystery associated with all its elements. Water, fire, bugs of various kinds intrigue me.
2. Freezing timeu00a0u00a0
As a kid I was very fascinated by the time machine. But I think, with the camera, we can really go back with time. If there weren't any cameras, our memories would be very rusty. Just recently I was looking through my childhood pictures. Thanks to technology, I at least know how I looked back then.
3. Hot shot companion
My camera travels with me wherever I go. During shoots, we do get a lot of free time. That's when I practise with it or read up about it online. I think if a person spends even half an hour with his camera and regularly studies the subject, he can be a great photographer. I also get tips about shutter speed, colours from professional photographers.
4. Vital stats
I use a D3X Nikon that also has a voice recorder. So I can record when and where I clicked a certain shot and the kind of changes that I would like to make to it. That's really helpful. I also own a D300 that has a 70-200mm zoom lens.u00a0
