Rai is known for her roles in films like Anarkali (1953), Ghunghat (1960) and Taj Mahal (1963). Wife of late actor Premnath, she was in her 70s.
She is survived by her sons Prem Kishen and Monty. Her grandson Siddharth Malhotra is making his directorial debut with the Karan Johar-produced adaptation of Stepmom. The funeral will be held today.
