Soniya Mehra just appeared in the pages of Vogue Tokyou00a0 for being fashionable. The actress who was reportedly lauded for her fashion sense in the magazine talks about her sense of style:
Style mantra
I believe that you have to have fun when you dress up. I wear clothes according to the mood I'm in. I don't believe in stylists, as I like to be the one putting everything together. What's the fun if somebody else does it for you? And if I ever get labelled as having made a faux pas, I wouldn't mind! Others may think I've goofed up, but I had fun putting together the ensemble. I like mixing trends.
Fashion idol
Mary-Kate Olsen, Nicole Richie, Dita Von Tesse, Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan. I love the way they are all so chilled out and stylish. They dress according to their mood. I love Dita for her classy, sophisticated style.
Too much of ufffd
I'm obsessed with shoes. I have way too many ufffd ranging from Zanottis, Jimmy Choos to flea market finds and Linking Road gladiators! I'm also a big one on headgear. I can't get enough of scarves, headbands and clips. I just love them!
Occasion counts
To a party, I prefer wearing two-piece outfits rather than a dress. It's lot of fun to style up ufffd a skirt with a blouse and open-toed shoes or a blingy skirt with a tube and some chunky heels. Of course, a headband is a must to complete the outfit. But if I am to spend a day with my friends, you'll either find me in a maxi dress with my new snakeskin gladiators or harem pants and a tank top with clogs or espadrilles. It truly depends on the mood I'm in. I just recently ripped up the front of my black tights so that I could wear those with a baggy tee and my Todds loafers!
No repeats
Shopping to me is retail therapy. And I do it a little too often maybe. I wear everything I have and my friends often pass comments on how they never see me wear the same thing twice!
