What's it about: Shiva (Puri), is a hangman like his dad before him and he's very good at hanging people. He wants a better life for his son Ganesh (Talpade) and sends him to the city to study to be a cop. Circumstances force Ganesh to murder a rich man's son. He is found guilty and is sentenced to death.
what's hot: The film is simply told and has sincere performances. Also, the detailing is near perfect.
What's not: It's absurd to hear villagers speak chaste English. Couldn't they use subtitles? The film, set in the '70s, was completed in 2005 and adheres to clichu00e9s of that era.u00a0
What to do: Hangman tries to make you care with its simplicity. But do you, really... care?u00a0
