Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, who played Meher in 'Chhoti Sardarni' grabbed eyeballs since day 1 in the 'Bigg Boss 16' house! She became the first captain and is known to voice her opinion on issues in the house. The actress caught up with mid-day.com, before entering the show.
What was your first reaction when 'Bigg Boss 16' came to you?
I was overwhelmed, this is not something that I thought would come my way. I hadn't given a thought about it because I hadn't expected it in the first place. It was a nice and different feeling.
Do you feel your fanbase from 'Chhoti Sardarni' will be a major advantage in the game?

It's the audience that we are here for, at the end of the day. I hope to get the kind of love and appreciation that I got for my work in 'Chhoti Sardarni.' I understand that every contestant comes with a loyal fanbase and people who look up to them. So there is no overconfident feeling. I do hope that the love I got for 'Chhoti...' is something that will continue in the house.
The audience knows you as Meher...
I want people to know who I really am. I want to give them the access to know that I'm as imperfect as one can get. This is the raw me!
How do you plan to deal with arguments and controversies?
Life gives you surprises, there can be conflicts and difference of opinions. I'm just going to be true to myself, I'm not someone who will sit on the sidelines. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and I will keep mine firmly.
Who are your favourite contestants from previous seasons?
Gauahar Khan, is my favourite contestant, such a strong voice who inspired so many women. Even when I see her today she's the same. It means she was her real authentic self and that's what people loved her for!
