Boney Kapoor's younger daughter Khushi also harbours aspirations of being an actor like her elder sister Janhvi Kapoor and mother Sridevi. However, before making her acting debut, the Kapoor junior was keen to learn the ropes of filmmaking. Khushi has completed an acting course in the US as she had enrolled herself at the New York Film Academy. And now it seems like Khushi Kapoor is Bollywood-ready!
In a recent interview with Bombay Times, Boney Kapoor spilled some beans on his younger daughter's Bollywood debut. "Yes, Khushi is also keen on acting. You will hear an announcement soon," said the filmmaker.
However, Boney has no plans to launch Khushi, just as he didn't launch son Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi. Arjun and Janhvi were launched in Bollywood by big banner Yash Raj Films and Dharma Productions respectively and not by Boney's production house. Stating the reason for the same, Boney said, "I have the resources, but I would rather have someone else launch her because I am her father and one tends to get indulgent. You can't afford to do that as a filmmaker and nor is it good for the actor. Anil (brother Anil Kapoor) was still an established actor, so it didn't affect him much, but I think I became an indulgent brother with Sanjay (Sanjay Kapoor) when he made his entry into films."
"Likewise, I would want Khushi to find her own footing. She will be launched by someone I respect and someone I feel secure and safe about," concluded the filmmaker.
Last year, in a video posted by the New York Film Academy, Khushi Kapoor was seen talking about the academy and her aspirations for acting juxtaposed with her mother Sridevi's moments from her films and the New York Academy's college campus.
She said "Hi, I am Khushi Kapoor. My family is in the business but I have always just looked from afar. I would definitely love to work with my family at some point in the future. I would like to prove myself and prove my place before I jump into working with my family. There's really no other way to go about it than to immerse yourself into it. I learned about the New York Film Academy because my cousin attended here a few years ago and he would always say good things about it. I remember my mom filmed one of her films here (a still from English Vinglish plays) and that's when I decided I wanted to be here. I really enjoy all of my classes over here but the ones that have stuck with me are acting for films and improv. I love acting for films because I feel like I am in a movie and actually working. It's been an incredible experience for me."
After Janhvi, it's time to watch out for Khushi Kapoor!
