Lata Mangeshkar Death Anniversary 2024: Lata Mangeshkar, one of the most celebrated singers, contributed significantly to the Indian music industry in a career spanning eight decades, earning titles such as 'Queen of Melody' and 'Voice of the Millennium.' She recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages. On the legendary singer's death anniversary, let's remember her with this throwback picture shared by Karisma Kapoor.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Karisma posted a picture featuring her late grandfather and iconic star Raj Kapoor along with the late actor Nargis and the "Nightingale of India" Lata Mangeshkar. In the caption, she wrote, "So many legends together in one frame at the premiere of dadaji's Awara. Rest in Glory, Lata Ji. The Nightingale of India." Karisma shared the picture after the demise of Lata Mangeshkar.
As Karisma shared the picture, several fans reacted to it. A fan wrote, "incredible picture". "Beautiful pic," wrote another fan, while others dropped heart emojis.
The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away last year on February 6th, 2022. Mangeshkar won several awards and honors, including the Bharat Ratna (2001), India's highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan (1969), Padma Vibhushan (1999), and Dadasaheb Phalke Award (1989).

While the full life of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar is an open book, there is something about her that not many know. Were you aware that, besides singing in many languages, Lata Mangeshkar had even acted in a film? The film's name was âPahili Mangalagaur,' directed by R.S. Junnarkar. Besides Lata Mangeshkar, the film also starred Vishnupant Jog, Shahu Modak, and Snehprabha Pradhan. The film was released in 1942.
The same information was even tweeted by the Indian Nightingale herself on social media. She had posted, stating, "Namaskar. In 1942, I played the role of a child artist in the film 'Pahili Mangalagaur,' where I portrayed the younger sister of the heroine. On the occasion of the arrival of the Chaitra month, there was a song that I and Snehprabha Pradhan ji sang and acted in. That song is for all of you."
