Suniel Shetty celebrates success of 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', 'Gadar 2', 'OMG 2' and 'Jailer'

Ever since the pandemic subsided, the attempt among filmmakers has been to bring back the audience to the theatres. The past month has seen several Indian and Hollywood films bringing people to the theatres. Last week, 'Gadar 2' and 'Jailer' had the cash registers ringing with historic opening. With the success of recent releases, one believes that the dry spall of the cinemas might be nearing its end.

Actor Suniel Shetty took to his social media handle to celebrate the films. He shared a note on how differnet films have been performing well at the box ofofice. He took to X and penned a note on the recent releases, including Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2 and Gadar 2.

Suniel took to his X account and shared a collage of the posters of four films- Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Jailer, Gadar 2 and OMG 2. He wrote in the caption: "How fantastic the last couple weeks have been for cinema! Started with #RockyaurRani, and now #Gadar2, #OMG2 and #Jailer have all smashed it at the box office. And with the extended weekend the movie magic is only going to soar higher! Grab your popcorn and enjoy the blockbuster spree!"

Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' was released in theatres on August 11 and collected Rs 52 crore in India on day 1. The film entered the 100 crore club in just 3 days. Apart from Rajinikanth, 'Jailer' also sars Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shivarajkumar, Sunil Varma, Yogi Babu, and Vasanth Ravi.

On the other hand, Sunny Deol's 'Gadar 2', driven by nostalgia registered a whopping Rs 40 crore on day 1. The film saw a rose of day 2 collecting over Rs 43 crore. The film will enter the 100 crore club in just 3 days.

Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' with limited promotions and a clash with 'Gadar 2' also did well at the box office collecting Rs 10 crore on day 1 and following it up with Rs 15 crore collection on day 2.

Karan Johar's film 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' also did well at the box office and got unanimous positive reactions from audience and critics alike. The film that opened at Rs 11.1 crore collected Rs 100 crore in 10 days. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan.
