Ramesh is working on a movie inspired by the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition and is doing plenty of research to make it authenticDirector A M R Ramesh is once again doing a realistic film. Titled Police Quarters, it is based on the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition. It will be released in both Tamil and Kannada and shot at the same locations, but with separate negatives for both the languages. Aneesh and Sonu play the lead roles.
Explaining the plot, Ramesh says, "The story is about two lovers who went missing during the demolition."
Ramesh has a penchant for basing films on recent incidents in India and he is also reshooting Cyanide, which deals with the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, in Hindi with a more detailed script. The cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Seema Biswas, Suhana Goswami, Anupam Kher and Om Puri.
Getting realAs with Cyanide, real cops will also feature in Police Quarters. Some of these policemen will be the ones who were at the site when the demolition took place, and this could add to the authenticity of the movie.
He says he has put in a lot of research in order to ensure that he doesn't get into any trouble with the censor board.
