Vijay and Suri, no doubt, form a successful actor-director combination. Their previous venture Duniya rocked the box office and created history in Sandalwood. But after Duniya, all Vijay's films have flopped.u00a0

Suri too was stung by the tepid response to his semi-autobiographical film Inti Ninna Preethiya. The actor and director are back after a hiatus with Junglee. And they're keeping their fingers crosses. Both Suri and Vijay, who are going through a bad patch and need a hit desperately, have all hopes pegged on Junglee, which will hit the screens this Friday.

"I can only say that Junglee has turned out extremely well.u00a0 The film is packaged as a complete entertainer with romance, breathtaking action, and a lot of hilarious scenes. We have really worked very hard and done our best to deliver a quality entertainer. Now everything is left to the audience. I just can go on and on about my film. But it's the audience who decides the fate of a film. It's better to wait and watch for the audience response before patting ourselves on the back," says Suri with a nervous laugh.

Just fun

Don't the promos of Junglee have a Duniya hangover? Will it be another saga on gangsters and the underbelly of Silicon City? "The film has a bit of sickle-n-pickle stuff in it. I don't deny that. I think these ingredients are essential. My previous film, Inti Ninna Preethiya, was a serious and offbeat film with a strong message. But the audience rejected it outright. That's when I decided to concentrate on entertainment. Junglee is different from Duniya. We have adopted a different approach as far as the screenplay is concerned," Suri explains.

Song and dance

It's must be reassuring that the songs are climbing the popularity charts. Viewers have appreciated the picturisation as well. "The sales of audio cassettes and CDs have zoomed far beyond our expectations. We are thrilled. The film has a strong star cast, mesmerising music, and action. I'm really happy about the way the film has turned out," insists producer Rockline Venkatesh.u00a0

Suri and Venkatesh give the thumbs-up to both Vijay and Aindritha Ray. "Vijay's role is very challenging. His comic timing in the movie is brilliant. And Aindritha Ray too has done a commendable job," says Suri.
