Advit Mohunta, a college student when he started performing, has been making quit a buzz in the Pune Comedy Scene. Tarang Hardikar is another young Stand-Up Comic from Pune who has been killing it in the Pune and Mumbai comedy scene. Tarang's style of comedy is observational, as he describes "I like to describe normal things in an abnormal way and just see where I can go with it. I do a lot of physical comedy which I think comes from me trying to literally shake off my stage fright. I am a very nervous person and I think comedy has helped me express my thoughts somehow. Be it in a joke format". Tarang aims to test his jokes in Foreign waters and get to his hour of stand-up that would explain him as a person.
With her first Open Mic at an local café during her first job, Anamika Haridas sought Stand-Up as her go to hobby which now is making all sense for her. Her goal in comedy has kept on changing as she quotes "When I started out at 22, I didn't know how much it would change me. That first year alone of doing stand-up was quite transformative. Going up on stage every day and talking about, laughing about things you haven't even discussed with your friends yet- there's a power to that. My style especially at the beginning was shaping up to be dark. I would find ways to make the stuff I thought about funny. Now, about three years in, it's different. I try to find the funny in my own life, without altering too many details".
Indraneel Chaudhary, a full time corporate by day and Stand-Up guy by evening has been the go to Open Act in the city these days. He aims to do Stand-Up full time but also wants to learn the craft before he takes Stand-Up fulltime. Indraneel describes his style of Comedy as "English, clean, self-deprecating and observational. A lot of my jokes are about events in my life and I try to incorporate other observations that I have into these bits".
Pradeep Chaudhary is another young Stand-Up comic from the city aspiring to do Stand-up full time. It all started as an experiment for Pradeep but the time he has spent at Open Mics and Shows has made him firm to pursue stand-up. Pradeep has been using his creativity to craft hilarious and related stories that are funny but also put forward an opinion about several social situations. "The one thing I enjoy the most in comedy is roasting! From my perspective roasting is the most honest and interesting part of the comedy art form as it involves the danger of offending people. You always have to say the thing from an extreme point of view and still have to make sure people are not getting offended. That risk makes it more interesting and alive", says Pradeep.
