While the night started early, the crowd kept pouring in and as expected, it was a jam-packed arena. People of all ages were warmed up with performances by different Indian artists including Celina Sharma and Nikita Gandhi. Photo Courtesy: Nascimento Pinto

After an interesting mix from their Indian line-up including tsumyoki, it wasn’t long before the DJ with Rema brought on some of the most popular Afrobeats tunes playing in African clubs right now including Rush by Ayra Starr and Spyro and Tiwa Sacage’s Who Is Your Guy?, among others. After a much-anticipated performance in Delhi on May 12, Rema even engaged with the audience by asking the classical ‘Kasa Kai Mumbai’ and didn’t stop till he got up the steps for his performance. A level higher than other artists, he made the performance his own, and even said it wasn’t a “concert” but a “Rema Party” and everybody should just have the best time of their lives. Halfway through the performance, Rema was also joined by Nora Fatehi on stage as she danced with him to ‘Nach Meri Rani’. If the audience was already pumped for his performance, this familiarity made them happier as they brought out the best of their dance steps, and were even accompanied by Africans in the crowd, who were grooving to the music. It may have been his first ever concert in India but Rema has already won the hearts of many with his 'Afrorave' music within the Afrobeats genre. It was a party in the truest sense as everybody was on their feet and dancing to his peppy tracks right till the last beat. Photo Courtesy: Nascimento Pinto
