Celebrated annually to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, Eid Milad-un-Nabi is being observed on October 19 this year. However, since the religious event commences with sighting of the moon, the celebrations began from October 18 itself. The day is dedicated to honouring the life of Prophet Muhammad and his teachings. Muslims across the subcontinent celebrate this day by offering prayers at a mosque or dargah in the morning, followed by a procession.
