Nothing sells like success, but to sell successfully, you need to advertise your products and make them stand out of the crowd. In today's age, a lot of creativity goes into ads but what did people do in the days of yore?

We have a brief sample of some ads that came in the early 1980s. Enjoy!

Apple of my eye: While this Lisa looks ancient by today's standards, it must have been one hell of a stunner when it was launched. (1983)

Do you want fries with that? While home computers of the past like the Atari were pitifully powerless when compared to modern computers, they did perform a great job when it came to introducing people to computers and making them feel comfortable. (1983)

Muscles of steel: Chances are very high that you will need to be very strong to lift this Osborne! (1981)

Everyone can use it: While using the PC for anything serious may have been just a dream once, today, it is a reality. In this context, one could say that this IBM PC Jr. ad was before its time. (1983)
